Spring Fever

Good morning! Spent yesterday in Montrose, looking for furniture that doesn't exist, at prices that don't exist, and settling for something that is not exactly what I am looking for, that won't get here for a week, and costs much more than I want to spend. Where's a good city when you need one? I have resorted to looking online for furniture for my new place, and I promise to post photos as soon as I get everything in.

They are saying our season is over, almost before it has started. The snow is melting at a shockingly fast rate, the tourists are few and far between and business is slowing down, slowly for some and with a screeching halt for others. I guess this is some kind of weather pattern that should see us through the rest of the "winter", and there is talk of desert trips and river rafting and hot sand under you and hot men above you. Go figure.

I picked up Marc yesterday, my yoga teacher from Maui. He is here for a weekend workshop, "Dancing with the Devis" where we will explore the balanced action of masculine and feminine aspects in the goddesses of Hindu mythology and how it relates to our yoga practice and our lives. I cannot WAIT to be a student for a few days and also to learn and ask him questions from teaching AND assist him in class some. We had a nice ride up from Montrose, just catching up and seeing what we have each been processing recently and some light yoga world gossip. He had ACL surgery but is healing very very rapidly. He helped me unload all the household crap I purchased at Target, as well as the rest of my stuff from storage, then we headed over to Liz Salem's house to assemble home made pizzas with Robyn, one of the Studio's owners, drink some wine and chat about Maui and families. It was a really really nice time, I had never spent time with Liz before and I liked her immensely. Marc is staying in their guest house which is quiet and clean and delightful. Today he comes to my class for the first time! I am looking forward to it, my theme I am developing, all about the student-teacher relationship and how that unfolds.

I got Robyn to drop me off and then she headed to her office to work on people's taxes, while I slipped into bed and text flirted with my new Secret Boyfriend. That's all I got today, I need to get my ass out of bed, put on some yoga clothes, eat and egg and head up to the Peaks to teach "Flow Yoga" which you know is not my favorite style. Can't we just stay in a pose for a while and really work it?
