November 16, 2011

It is 16 degrees, clear and gorgeous.
Look who decided to visit at 2 in the morning, rip our bird feeder down, obliterate it, then lick out all the sunflower seeds:

I
I know the picture isn't that great, but I tried it through the glass and was unsuccessful two times, before I opened the door a crack and stuck my arm out and captured the big doofus.  Plus I was naked, cold and sleepy.  That bear's ass was about as wide as it was tall - about up to my waist.  I wish I knew how to tell if bears are male or female - probably just a relative size thing?  Not a care in the world, this one, except for some late-night snacks.

I have the day off - going to Montrose to buy groceries, exchange the Ford's starter at Napa, get a mammogram (blech), have a dermatologist take a look at my skin, and get some spots lasered off my face.  This will be my last real chance to get all this kind of stuff done before the winter rolls about, because I will not be taking any days off to do anything except ski from now until April.

Yesterday at work I made the proclamation: I am officially Winterbusy.  We have a whole different level of workload in the winter season, and I reflected on that when I realized I had forgotten to take a lunch break.

JC met me at yoga then we zipped home for some tuna noodle casserole.  In a flash of genius I decided to start making a casserole-y thing he can put in the oven before yoga and when we return home at 7pm, famished and depleted, the house smells great and we can eat without delay.

Yoga was good, a level 2 flow class with Kristin.  I am developing an extremely unsightly and kind of gruesome cold sore right in the middle of my face, so I called in to Dr. Homer's to get a prescription and try to nip it in the bud.  Might be too late and now I will have a crusty scab for the next 10 days.  Psyched.
