November 27, 2011

Yesterday was another Perfect Day:

We hopped on the bus at 9, skied part-way down a run, then ducked off an access road and skinned up into Prospect.  It was cold (10 degrees when we left the house) but we heated up quickly and spend the morning with downy woodpeckers and dappled sun-and-shade in the snowy forest.  That picture above is us sharing some Constant Comment and snacks on Sundance, before making some delightful turns on wind-swept and snow-loaded groomers, before ducking back onto our original trail and this time skinning up onto Polar Queen.  By the time we made it back to the open runs on the ski area we were ready to head home for some hot tea and snacks around 2:30.

While dinner cooked (roasted fingerling potatoes, brussells sprouts with horseradish sauce and chicken-apple sausages cooked with Granny Smiths and onions), we did a 30-minute Yogaglo and tried to unwind what we wound up all day!  If anyone does not know about or use Yogaglo you are missing out!  For $18/month you can download any and all classes of yoga and meditation from some of the best instructors out there.  You can pick a class by length, instructor, style of yoga, or the body part you want to focus on.

We strolled into town for a decaf mocha at the Steaming Bean, sat in the window and watched the world go by, then strolled home again to watch 2 Office re-runs on Netflix and then slipping into a tired and blissful slumber.

Today: yoga for me from 9 - 11 while JC skis in Ophir, then up on the ski area to take some cruisers in the sun until our legs ask for the couch.
