God, this week was brutal. I don't know what was going on, but it wasn't me. Afte my glowing posts about routine and breakthroughs and blah blah blah... I had forgotten about how the winter routine you so easily embrace after Thanksgiving is shattered by the onslaught of December. Shopping for presents, work parties, school concerts, it seems like everybody wants something.
I have been in a funk all week. Yes, my birthday was nice, yes I love Noel Night, and I suddenly realized I have not had any quiet time since the Wenesday before last. Gawd.
So now I am on the couch with a glass of wine, feet up and enjoying just being home. It was -8 on Tuesday morning but the skiing was fantastic that afternoon. We had sushi at Honga's and on Wednesday strolled around for Noel Night, got a few stocking stuffers and saw lots of people, such a nice social evening.
Tomorrow we are skiing at Red Mountain Pass, then back in town for the Rock-n-Roll Winter Concert. Sunday morning I will yoga with Ally while JC skis and then meet up with him to ski on the area. It all sounds good on paper, but it is an expensive time of year and we all know how much I love to drape my body across anything flat and let the sun beat down on me and that just isn't possible this time of year. Unless, of course, I break down and visit a goddamn tanning bed.
Anywho, I felt like I had broken free of whatever was gripping me all week and I am ready for a long day outside. I will take photos to post tomorrow!
