Balloon Festival is dud-ish so far. Apparently if surface winds edge over .0002 knots it is unsafe to fly so there was no lift-off this morning and they are expecting to only light the fires in the backs of pickups in the middle of main street this evening. Whatever. One guy seemed to think that flying tomorrow morning was likely, and we can hear them inflating in Town Park from our house at 6:30am. It's kind of cool when it does happen.
So anyway, JC took Frances hiking and skiing on Ophir Pass on Memorial Day He has wanted to this for two years now and it finally worked out.
That's the road down below and Frances tearing it up. They did a couple of hikes and skis, took some Cokes to put in the snow for their return to the car in the early afternoon and it sounds like they had a nice time.
He looks pretty tired, yes?
I pitted and froze 3 pounds of fresh cherries to keep for winter use. Last year we had a huge bag of blueberries and raspberries that lasted us until... now actually.
Tomorrow is our 2nd annual East End Block Party, I will have much more to say about that by Monday morning. We had the first one last year, meeting our new neighbors in the development across and up the street and we all had so much fun we decided to to it every year. I suspect this year's will be larger, and I am contemplating making homemade ice cream sandwiches!!!!
